
WALTER HAS TOP 10 FINISH AT 7TH ANNUAL MOUNT SHOOTOUT
Mount Joy, Pa. (2/9/25) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team traveled to Mount Joy, Pa. for the 7th Annual Mount Shootout hosted by Saint Mary's University from Clearview Lanes.
The weekend opened with baker matches on Friday and then continued on Saturday with the traditional matches before closing out on Sunday with the championship bracket.
Day One: The Lady Chargers opened the weekend with five baker matches on Friday.
Dominican took on Bryant University, Emmanuel University, Kutztown University, Mount Saint Mary's University, and Mercyhurst University.
The Lady Chargers dropped all five matches to begin the tournament. Dominican posted scores of 863-873-871-890-965 on day one in the baker round. Dominican finished day one in 12th place.
Day Two: Dominican opened day two and the traditional matches with a win over Saint Anselm College 1,033-788. Dominican fell in their next three matches to FDU, Sacred Heart University, and Holy Family University. Dominican posted scores of 907-825-913 in their next three matches.
Freshman Kyra Walter had a top 10 finish in the individual standings placing 10th overall out of 79 bowlers. Walter finished with a season best 218 sum average and total pinfall of 1,090.
Walter rolled 200 games in four of the five contests including a 238 in game two and a team-high 256 in game five.
Stephanie O'Malley had a 38th place finish with a sum average of 190.60 finishing with a total pinfall of 953 highlighted by a 224 in game three.
Angelina Tati had a sum average of 187.40 and a total pinfall of 937. Tati had an individual best 225 in game three.
Dominican finished day two still in 12th place heading into the third and final day.
Day Three: Dominican entered the final day opening with Saint Anselm College in the first round in the championship bracket. Saint Anselm defeated the Lady Chargers four games to one to open the day.
Dominican bounced back in the second round after defeating Holy Family University 4-2 and then Saint Anselm 4-1 in the position round to complete the weekend in 11th place.
The Lady Chargers finish the weekend 3-9 overall and now hold a record of 32-51 overall on the season.
The Lady Chargers return to action next weekend when they visit Bowlerama in New Castle, Del. for the Wildcat DII Invitational hosted by Wilmington University.
