New Haven, Conn. (3/2/25) The field is set for the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Bowling Championship tournament. The four-team, double-elimination event will be hosted by Chestnut Hill College on March 22-23 at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pa., and the qualifiers were announced today by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara.
Felician University (63-31, 14-4 CACC) has captured its first CACC regular-season title. The No. 23 nationally-ranked Golden Falcons will be the top seed for the conference's postseason tournament. Caldwell University, the 2024 CACC champion (37-31, 13-5) returns to defend its title as the No. 2 seed. The No. 3 seed has been claimed by Wilmington University (41-32, 10-8), and Dominican University New York (45-59, 9-9) earned the final spot in the championship and will make the program's first conference postseason appearance as the No. 4 seed.
Six CACC members sponsor women's bowling. The four playoff qualifiers were determined by dual-match won-lost records during a pair of designated regular-season events. The first meet was hosted by Caldwell in November and the second by Felician on Saturday and Sunday. The regular-season crown and top seed came down to today's final Baker match, with Caldwell and Felician meeting both with 13-4 league records. Felician came away with the 900-867 victory.
The CACC Women's Bowling Championship will be contested in a double-elimination, "mega-match" format over two days. A mega-match is a best-of-three competition in which the same two schools stage a five-player traditional match, a five-game Baker match, and if necessary, a best-of-7 Baker match.
The CACC is sponsoring a championship in women's bowling for the third year. Caldwell won both the 2023 and 2024 conference titles. For the first time, the winner of the CACC Championship tournament will qualify automatically for the NCAA National Collegiate Bowling Championship.
