# 4 WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALL TO # 1 GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY IN CACC SEMI-FINALS
Lakewood, NJ (4/30/11) The fourth-seeded Dominican College women's lacrosse team fell to the top-seeded and host, Georgian Court University, 22-7, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semi-final game. With the loss the Lady Chargers finish the season with an overall record of 7-9.

Sophomore attacker Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, NJ) led the Lady Chargers with two goals in the loss. Junior Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) scored one goal and three assists to tally a team leading four points on the day, while sophomore Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) netted one goal and two assists to record three points.
Freshman goalie Amanda Caprio (Point Pleasant, NJ) made eight saves in the game.
Junior midfielder Williams scored the game's opening goal just 1:30 into the contest. GCU tied the game 37 seconds later, but Blank regained a 2-1 lead for Dominican 23 seconds later off the assist from Fiovanti.
The Lions roared back with a 12-0 run to go ahead 13-2 with 7:41 to play in the first half. Freshman midfielder Maggie Brocklebank (Long Branch, NJ) broke the GCU run with her 28th goal of the season off the pass from Williams to make the score 13-3. Freshman Traci-Joan Muniz (Middlesex, NJ) finished a 2-0 spurt for the Lady Chargers with a goall of William's second assist of the day with 2:16 to play in the first half to cut the deficit to 13-4.
GCU closed out the first half with their own 2-0 spurt to hold a 15-4 advantage at the half.
The Lady Chargers opened the second half scoring as senior Sarah Kiernan (Saugerties, NY) netted her 24th goal of the season off the hat trick of assists from Williams to make the score 15-5 with 29:30 to play in regulation.
Georgian Court went on to score five consecutive goals to go up 20-5 with 11:35 on the clock, but Blank stopped the run with her 29th goal off the year off the pass from Fiorvanti to make the score 20-6. After a GCU goal, Fiorvanti scored what would be the last goal of the season for the Lady Chargers with 7:11 left to play to make the score 21-7. GCU scored the game's last goal for the final 22-7 score.
