With the victory Dominican improves to 3-1 overall, while the Sailfish fall to 1-1 on the season.
The Lady Chargers took control of the contest early, begining the game with a 3-0 run and closing the first quarter with another 3-0 run to claim a 6-1 advantage.
Dominican dominated the second quarter with seven unanswered scores to jump out to a 13-1 lead at the intermission.
Scoring slowed in the third and fourth frames as DUNY scored the lone goal of the third quarter and outscored the Sailfish 2-1 in the fourth for the 16-2 victory.
Sophomore attacker Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) recorded a game best five goals.
Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) netted three goals and three assists, while Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) added three goals and one assist.
Midfielder Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) scored three goals in the win. Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) and Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) tallied the other Lady Charger scores.
Erin Carr (Wall, N.J.) recorded three ground balls, three draw controls, while Jenna Rigo (East Islip, N.Y.) had a team best three caused turnovers.
Starting goalie Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) made eight saves in 55+ minutes and Kathryn Erhlinger (Levittown, N.Y.) came in for the final 4:50.
The Lady Chargers went 14-16 in clear opportunites, edged PBA 17-15 in ground balls and held a 29-17 advantage in shots.
