With the win, the Lady Chargers improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the CACC and extend their winning streak to six games. The Wildcats fall to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) started in goal for Dominican and recorded four saves to secure the win. Katie Vindigni started in goal for Wilmington and recorded 14 saves but suffered the loss.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) scored a team-high seven goals with four goals in the opening quarter. Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 13 points including four goals and nine assists. Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) added five goals and one assist.
Erin Carr (Wall, N.J.) recorded a team-high four ground balls and also added a team-high 13 draw controls. Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) finished with two goals and six assists.
Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) scored three goals in the win while Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) and Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) each added one goal.
Wilmington was led by Maddie Day and Ella Royer who each scored three goals. Ella Baynes and Makenzie Stritzinger each scored two goals while Alea Javorowsky added one goal.
The Lady Chargers got off to a strong start in the first quarter with nine goals and added eight goals in the second quarter for the 17-5 lead by halftime.
The Wildcats scored three of the first four goals to begin the second half and added two more goals to end the third quarter.
Dominican finished the game strong by outscoring the Wildcats 4-1 in the fourth quarter on their way to the 23-11 victory.
Dominican returns to action next Wednesday, March 22nd when they travel to Felician University for a CACC match up with the Golden Falcons at 12:00 PM.
