
DESTASIO NETS 100TH CAREER GOAL IN WIN OVER HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Hillburn, N.Y. (3/24/23) Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) scored her 100th career goal and led the Lady Chargers to their eighth straight victory. DeStasio finished with a game-high seven goals in the win.
The Lady Chargers improve to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Tigers fall to 2-8 and 1-2 in the CACC.
Goalkeeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded 12 saves in the win to earn her eighth win on the season.
Emma Hurley made 12 saves for the Tigers but suffered the loss.
Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) and Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) each finished with five points in the win. Costello scored two goals and recorded three assists while Grella scored four goals and added one assist.
Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) scored two goals and added one assist. Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.), Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.), and Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) each scored one goal.
Paige Affet and Tori Wolstenhome each scored two goals for Holy Family. Rachael Sepcic, Maura Kilkenny, Mackenzie Santucci, and Rianna Shields all added one goal in the game.
Both teams started the game off strong with three goals each in the opening quarter. Dominican outscored the Tigers 6-2 in the second quarter and finished the quarter with four unanswered goals for the 9-5 lead at halftime.
Holy Family scored the first goal of the second half but DeStasio scored the next three goals for Dominican to end the third quarter and scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter.
Dominican outscored the Tigers 6-2 in the fourth quarter and 9-3 in the second half on their way to the 18-8 victory.
Lady Chargers return to action on the road on Tuesday when they visit the Eagles of Post University for a CACC match up at 2:00 PM.
