
WOMEN'S LACROSSE EXTENDS WINNING STREAK WITH VICTORY OVER COUGARS
West Caldwell, N.J. (4/4/23) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak to 11 games today after defeating the Cougars of Caldwell University, 21-4 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at Essex Valley Field.

With the win Dominican improves to 11-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers closed out the first quarter on an 11-0 tear and scored the first three quarters of the second to extend their lead to 15-1. The team closed the contest on a 4-0 run for the victory.
Attacker Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led all scorers with nine goals and one assist for 10 game points.
Sophomore Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) contributed three goals, one assist and 11 draw controls, while Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) and Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) scored two goals and five assists each in the win.
Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) netted two goals with Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) and Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) each adding a goal.
Starting goalkeeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) made one save in the first quarter, while Kathryn Ehrlinger (Levittown, N.Y.) had two saves in the second and third quarters. Katharina Cohen (Sparta, N.J.) and Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) played the fourth with Nutting making one save.
The Lady Chargers held the 22-9 advantage in draw controls and went 12-13 in clear opportunities, while picking up 16 ground balls.
Dominican returns to action on April 11th when they travel to Thomas Jefferson University.
