With the win, Dominican improves to 14-2 overall and 8-1 in the CACC. UB falls to 5-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) earned her 14th win of the season in net. Kathryn Ehrlinger (Levittown, N.Y.), Katharina Cohen (Sparta, N.J.), and Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) also saw action in net for Dominican.
Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) led the way in goals scored for Dominican with six and recorded one assist for seven points. Ortiz also added a game-high 16 draw controls.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) finished with a team-high nine points with five goals and four assists. Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) added four goals and four assists while Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) scored four goals and recorded three assists.
Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) scored three goals in the win while Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) scored two goals and added two assists. Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) finished with one goal.
Dominican opened the scoring with nine unanswered goals in the first quarter. Bridgeport got on the board late in the quarter and ended the Dominican run with two goals.
The Lady Chargers went on an 8-0 run with two goals at the end of the first quarter and the first six goals of the second quarter. Dominican entered halftime with an 18-3 lead.
The Lady Chargers outscored the Purple Knights 7-4 in the second half on their way to the 25-7 victory.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday when they host Alliance University on Senior Day at 2:00 PM.
