
COSTELLO RECORDS 200TH CAREER POINT AND ORTIZ SCORES 100TH CAREER GOAL IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Hillburn, N.Y. (4/29/23) The Dominican University New York women’s lacrosse team completed their 2023 regular season with a victory over Alliance University on Senior Day.

Before today's game, Dominican honored their two seniors with a pregame ceremony. Dominican honored Seniors Caitlin Anderson (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Sydney Hanifin (Stony Point, N.Y.) before the start of the game.
With the win the Lady Chargers finish the regular season with a 15-2 overall record and a 9-1 CACC record. Dominican also secured their first CACC regular season championship and will be the #1 seed in the upcoming CACC tournament.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led the way with nine goals scored. DeStasio scored four goals in the first half and added five in the second half. Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) added eight points with five assists and three goals.
Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) finished with five assists and one goal for six points. Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) added four points with one goal scored and three assists.
With 4:18 remaining in the first quarter, Costello connected with Ortiz for her 200th career point and the goal was Ortiz's 100th goal of her career.
Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) finished the game with two goals. Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.), Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Josie Lettieri (Deer Park, N.Y.), and Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) all finished the game with one goal scored.
Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) started in goal for Dominican and recorded the win. Kathryn Ehrlinger (Levittown, N.Y.), Katharina Cohen (Sparta, N.J.), and Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) all saw time in goal for Dominican.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the 2023 CACC Women's Lacrosse Championships. Dominican earned the #1 seed and will have a first round bye into the semi-final round next Saturday.
