GRELLA AND COSTELLO EARN 2024 IWLCA ALL-REGION HONORS

IWLCA Reveals 2024 Division II All-Region Teams

Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/16/24) Dominican University New York women's lacrosse players, Madelyn Grella and Caitlin Costello, have been named to the 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Teams as was announced by the organization yesterday. Grella was named to the First Team, while Costello earned Second Team accolades.

Grella, a sophomore from Monmouth Beach, N.J., makes her first appearance on the IWLCA All-Region Team. She was recently named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) First Team for the second time. She was in the top five in the conference in points, assists and goals.

Costello, a red-shirt junior from Seaford, N.Y., earns her second IWLCA All-Region honors after being named to the First Team in 2023. Costello recently earned her third All-CACC First Team honors as she ranked in the top six in the conference in assists, points and draw controls.

The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2024. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the Division II 2024 All-American teams on May 22.

Grella and Costello were two of four players from the CACC to earn IWLCA All-Region honors.
