
LADY CHARGERS PICKED FIRST IN THE 2025 CACC WOMEN'S LACROSSE PRESEASON COACHES POLL

New Haven, Conn. (1/31/25) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Commissioner Dan Mara has announced the results of the balloting of the 2025 CACC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll. Dominican University New York has been chosen for first place.
Dominican (16-3, 9-0 CACC in 2024) claimed the CACC regular-season and tournament championship a year ago. The Chargers, who also won the 2023 conference crown, are 25-3 in CACC play over the last three years.
DUNY received nine of 10 first-place votes and 81 total points in the poll. The Chargers were followed by Wilmington University, in second place with 68 points, and third-place Georgian Court University, which collected 66 points. Thomas Jefferson University garnered the other first-place voted and finished fourth in the balloting with 61 points.
The final two projected playoff spots went to the University of Bridgeport and Holy Family University. Bridgeport was picked to finish fifth, gaining 47 points, followed by Holy Family in sixth with 42. Rounding out the coaches' choices were Post University (7th, 31 points), Chestnut Hill College (8th, 19), Caldwell University (9th, 18) and Felician University (10th, 17),
The regular season begins on February 15, when Georgian Court hosts Molloy University. All league teams are scheduled to open their season by March 9, the same day conference action is slated to begin.
At season's end, the top six teams in the standings will qualify for the CACC Championship tournament. The opening round and the semifinals will take place on April 26 and April 29, respectively, at campus sites. Georgian Court will host the championship final on Sunday, May 4, on its Lakewood, N.J., campus. For the first time, the CACC champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship tournament.
