
DOMINICAN DOWNS CALDWELL IN CACC OPENER
Caldwell, N.J. (3/15/25) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team downed the Cougars of Caldwell University today in their CACC opener at Kiwanis Circle in Caldwell, N.J.
The Lady Chargers improve to 3-1 overall and now 1-0 in conference play while the Cougars fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Dominican opened the game with eight unanswered goals in the first quarter and added to their lead in the second quarter with six more goals as they took a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Dominican continued the run in the third quarter with four more goals and then two goals halfway through the fourth quarter. Caldwell got on the board late in the fourth quarter when Meghan Korzevinski scored.
The Lady Chargers added one more goal late in the fourth quarter on their way to the 21-1 victory.
Dominican was led by Madelyn Grella who finished the game with 10 total points on a team high six assists and four goals. Grella led the team in shots with 12 and picked up three ground balls.
Josie Lettieri and Rylie McGhan each scored three goals. McGhan also added four draw controls and one ground ball while Lettieri also recorded two assists for a total of five points and picked up two ground balls.
Madison Mileti scored twice and recorded two assists while Sydney Strohmayer also scored twice, picked up three ground balls, and picked up a team-high five draw controls.
Jordana Tomasetti scored one goal and recorded one assist while Alexa Preston, Ava Carabetta, Ellie Brouwer, Payton LaVallee, Leila Lindquist, and Addison Sullivan all found the back of the net once.
Jenna Rigo recorded a team-high six ground balls including her 100th career ground ball. Rigo also led the team in caused turnovers with four and added two draw controls. Erin Carr picked up three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Goalkeepers Kristinamarie Kaszovitz and Emma Crater split time in net for the Lady Chargers. Kaszovitz recorded two saves and earned the win in 45:00 minutes of action. Crater played total of 15:00 minutes.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they visit the University of New Haven.
