
LADY CHARGERS UPEND LIONS FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT WIN
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/29/25) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak to seven straight games as they downed CACC opponent Georgian Court University by a score of 21-5 on O'Brien Field.
The Lady Chargers improve to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play while the Lions fall to 3-8 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.
Dominican led 6-2 after the first quarter and opened the second quarter with three unanswered goals and later scored two more while only allowing one and entered halftime with an 11-3 lead.
Dominican opened the second half hot, outscoring the Lions 7-0 in the third quarter. Dominican scored the first goal of the fourth quarter extending the run to eight goals and a 19-3 lead. Each team scored two more times before the end of the game and the Lady Chargers completed the win.
Dominican's all-time leading goal scorer Grace DeStasio and Erica Ortiz combined for 10 goals scoring five each. DeStasio also added six draw controls, three ground balls, one assist, and one caused turnover.
Ortiz, who scored her 200th career goal, also had a team-high 11 draw controls and one caused turnover. Madelyn Grella scored three goals and picked up a team-high three assists
Josie Lettieri, Madison Mileti, and Rylie McGhan each scored two goals while Jordana Tomasetti and Ellie Brouwer each scored one goal.
Jenna Rigo led the team in caused turnovers with seven, including her 100th career caused turnover, and five ground balls. Sydney Strohmayer picked up four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Goalkeeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz earned her eighth win in goal on the season and recorded five saves in 45:00 of action. Emma Crater entered the game at the start of the fourth and made one save.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they visit Felician University.
