
LADY CHARGERS UPEND GOLDEN FALCONS
Rutherford, N.J. (4/1/25) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team upended the Golden Falcons of Felician University in CACC action.
Dominican, the #25 team in the Division II IWLCA Coaches Poll, shutout the Golden Falcons by a score of 21-0 to extend their current winning streak to eight games and improve to a 9-1 overall record and a 5-0 CACC record.
The lady Chargers scored 11 goals in the first quarter to open the game. CACC Player of the Week Grace DeStasio scored four goals in the opening quarter while Madelyn Grella scored three goals.
Dominican scored five goals in the second quarter, three goals in the third, and two goals in the fourth on their way to the 21-0 win. DeStasio scored a team-high six goals while also leading the way in draw controls with eight and added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Grella and Erica Ortiz each scored five goals. Grella also picked up a team-high eight assists for 13 points in the win while Ortiz also recorded two assists, three ground balls, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers.
Madison Mileti scored one goal and picked up two assists. Ellie Brouwer, Leila Lindquist, and Rylie McGhan each netted one goal. CACC Defensive Player of the Week Jenna Rigo picked up two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Rigo scored her first career goal in the fourth quarter. Caitlin Costello recorded four assists and four draw controls.
CACC Goalkeeper of the Week Kristinamarie Kaszovitz recorded her ninth win on the season in net. Emma Crater, Kathryn Ehrlinger, and Dynastee Ramos each saw time in net in the win. Ehrlinger picked up two saves.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Saturday when they visit the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University.
