WYSOCKI NETS TWO GOALS IN VICTORY OVER DOLPHINS

Staten Island, N.Y. (9/11/24) Senior midfielder Isabella Wysocki connected for two goals including the game winning goal to give the Lady Chargers a 4-3 victory over the College of Staten Island this afternoon. 

Dominican improves to 2-1 overall on the season and have won back to back games while the Dolphins fall to 0-2-1.

Nelly Arvidsson made three saves in goal for Dominican and earned her second win of the season. CSI goalkeeper Sara Villacres made five saves but suffered the loss. 

Dominican got on the board first after Wysocki scored her first of the game off of a pass from Nicholette Brunner who picked up the assist.

After the Dolphins tied the game at 1-1, Kaitlyn Zeeb put the Lady Chargers back in front in the final minute of the first half and Sabine Sorensen recorded an assist on the goal. 

Just over two minutes into the second half, the Dolphins netted their second goal to even the score at 2-2. 

Dominican answered three minutes later when Zeeb set up teammate Brianna Mikucki for her first goal of the season to give DU the 3-2 advantage. 

CSI tied the score again in the 79th minute, but Wysocki answered with her second goal of the game which put the Lady Chargers ahead 4-3 at the 83:17 mark which would close out the victory.

The Lady Chargers held the edge in shots with 20 led by Wysocki who finished with eight. Zeeb recorded six shots in the win. Dominican also held the edge in corner kicks.

Caitlyn Thompson, Nadia Evola, and Emilie Nagel were the goal scorers for the Dolphins with Chloe Ludwick and Taryn Hilke each picking up one assist. 

The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday for their home opener when they host St. Michael's College on O'Brien Field at 12:00 PM.
