Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/23/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team defeated the visiting Eagles of Post University, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Sister Mary Eileen O'Brien Field.
With the win Dominican improves to 6-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play.
Senior Isabella Wysocki got the Lady Chargers on the scoreboard just 1:22 into the contest on a shot from the top of the box off the pass from Alissa Madura.
Dominican added a goal at the 53:57 mark as Jessie Maraia recorded her first game goal on a shot from inside box, following the pass from Wysocki.
The Eagles scored a goal in the 88th minute of play to make the score 2-1 and Maraia closed out the game with her second game goal for the final 3-1 score. Kaitlyn Zeeb got the assist on the game's final goal.
Keeper Brielle Bell made five saves in her first collegiate victory.
DUNY outshot the Eagles, 25-12, and held the 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Wilmington University.
