Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/2/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team lost to the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on O'Brien Field.
Prior to the start of the game, the team honored seniors: #7 Kaitlyn Zeeb, #8 Sabine Sorensen, #9 Logan Valdes, #10 Isabella Wysocki, #16 Kelly Harris, #17 Brianna Mikucki, #23 Alissa Madura and #25 Madeline Friedman.
With the loss Dominican falls to 6-8-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the CACC.
Holy Family scored goals in the sixth minute and the ninth minute of action for the early 2-0 advantage.
The Lady Chargers got on the scoreboard at the 87:03 mark when sophomore Jessie Maraia found the back of the net off the double assist by Harris and Zeeb.
Dominican held the 21-19 advantage in shots and an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Nelly Arvidsson made five saves in the loss.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Friday, November 8th when they travel to Felician University in the CACC Regular Season Finale.
