Caldwell, N.J. (11/14/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team fell to the Cougars of Caldwell University in the CACC Semifinals this afternoon on the Caldwell Athletic Field on the campus of Caldwell University by a score of 3-0.
The #6 seeded Lady Chargers finish the season with an overall record of 8-9-2. The #2 seeded Cougars move onto the CACC Championship Finals this coming Sunday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Brielle Bell matched her season high in saves with 10. Bell made four saves in the opening half and six in the second half.
Ariana Gaminara made five saves in the shutout victory for the Cougars.
Both teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half and CU led the opening half in shots 8-5.
Caldwell opened the second half strong with three consecutive goals in the opening five minutes.
Ana Pinzon scored the game's first goal with Ayla Fraser and Rosio Cardenas picking up the double assists. Cayla Willis and Cardenas followed to extend the lead to 3-0. Taina Gervais and Megan Feehan picked up assists on the goals.
Dominican finished the game with 11 total shots, five in the opening half and six in the second half.
Jessie Maraia led the Lady Chargers in shots with four including one on goal. Kaitlyn Zeeb and Sabine Sorensen finished the game with two shots. Logan Valdes, Isabella Wysocki, and Emily Rath each finished with one shot.
