LADY CHARGERS UPEND LIGHTNING

Wilmington, Del. (10/14/23)  The Dominican University New York women's tennis team upended host, Goldey-Beacom College, 4-3, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at Delcastle Tennis Center.

Dominican improves to 2-7 overall and 2-6 in the CACC, while GBC falls to 2-8 overalll and 1-8 in conference play.

The Lady Chargers won the doubles point with victories in second (Angelina Amelkina (Moscow, Russia)/Lia Sarjveladze (Tbilsi, Georgia)) doubles (6-4) and third (Vanya Tyagi (Delhi, India)/Preeti Koli (Delhi, India)) doubles (6-2).

Selina Donecker (Neuwied, Germany) picked up a win at third singles by the scores of 7-5 and 6-3, while Koli improved to 2-0 on the day with a fifth singles victory (6-3, 7-5).

Sarjveladze also went 2-0 on the day with a win at sixth singles by the scores of 6-1 and 6-2.
