WOMEN'S TENNIS BEGINS SEASON WITH LOSS TO GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE

Monsey, N.Y. (9/14/24)  The Dominican University New York women's tennis team began the 2024-2025 year with a 7-0 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Goldey-Beacom College, in a match played today at Manny Welder Park.

The Lady Chargers now stand at 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Lightning improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in CACC play.

Dominican duo, Angelina Amelkina and Lia Sarjveladze, won their match at second doubles by besting their counterparts, 6-4.

Amelkina battled in her singles match by taking the first set 6-4, before falling 6-2 in the second set and 11-9 in the tiebreaker.
