
AMELKINA AND SARJVELADZE WIN MATCHES BUT LADY CHARGERS FALL TO EAGLES
Monsey, N.Y. (10/12/24) The Dominican University New York women's tennis team lost a tough 4-3 decision to the visiting Eagles of Post University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played today at Manny Welder Park.
Following the loss, the Lady Chargers now stand at 2-9 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Dominican picked up the doubles point as Angelina Amelkina teamed up with Lia Sarjveladze to defeat their opponents, 6-2. Ava O'Brien and Preeti Koli won their doubles match, 6-2 for the early 1-0 win.
Amelkina also took home a victory at #1 singles in three sets by the scores of 6-1, 2-6 and 6-4.
Sarjveladze won her match at #4 singles, also in three sets, by the scores of 3-6, 6-1, 6-4
