MURPHY WINS 400M DASH AT VASSAR APRIL TWILIGHT

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (4/27/24) The Dominican University New York women's track and field squad competed at the Vassar April Twilight Meet held yesterday.

Junior Anna Murphy (Holbrook, N.Y.) won the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.78. Teammate Julia Dunne (Babylon, N.Y.) took fourth place with a time of 1:04.77.

The shot put event saw Miranda Tucker (Nassau, Bahamas) take second place take second place with a throw of 10.93m, while Julissa Velazquez (Ozone Park, N.Y.) took third place with a throw of 9.87m.

Tucker also compted in the javelin where she took fourth place with a throw of 29.88m.

The 4x400m relay team of Julia Dunne (Babylon, N.Y.), Anjalice Arias (Middletown, N.Y.), Steffy Espejo (Tunja, Colombia) and Murphy also had a fourth place finish with a time of 4:25.86.

The Lady Chargers return to action next weekend when they travel to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Track and Field Championships to be hosted by Georgian Court University.
