LADY CHARGERS TRACK AND FIELD COMPETE AT PURPLE & GOLD OPEN
West Chester, Pa. (3/22/25) The Dominican University New York women's track and field team tied for 14th place today at the Purple & Gold Open, hosted by West Chester University.
The 4x100m relay team of Jayda Jones, Kiana Thomas, Genesis Jimenez and Tiara Cargill had the high finish of fourth place in the event.
Thomas, Anjalice Arias, Jones and Anna Murphy took sixth place in the 4x400m relay, while Lynn Jacob took 10th place in the 100m dash and Tori Benson took 10th place in the discus throw.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
- Jayda Jones, Kiana Thomas, Genesis Jimenez and Tiara Cargill competed in the 4x100m relay where they finished in fourth place with a time of 52.65.
- The 4x400m relay team of Thomas, Anjalice Arias, Jones and Anna Murphy took sixth place with a time of 4:42.93.
- In the 100m dash, Lynn Jacob took 10th place with a time of 13.95. Jones took 12th place with a time of 13.99 and Cargill finished in 15th place with a time of 14.09. Jimenez ran a time of 14.28 to finish in 17th place.
- Tori Benson took 10th place in the discus throw with a throw of 28.76m (94' 4"). Kenyce Scavella finished in 11th place with a throw of 28.66m (94' 0"), while Julissa Velazquez finished in 23rd place with a throw of 24.82m (81'5").
- Velazquez competed in the shot put event where she took 13th place with a throw of 10.28m (33' 8.75"). Benson took 19th place with a throw of 9.29m (30' 5.75"), while Scavella finished in 23rd place with a throw of 8.57m (28' 1.5").
- In the 400m dash, Arias finished in 16th place with a time of 1:07.86.
- The 800m run saw Sarai Cruz ran a time of 2:54.71 to take 17th place.
- Jimenez also competed in the long jump where she took 17th place with a jump of 4.14m (13' 7"). Cargill took 22nd place with a jump of 3.81m (12' 6").
- Cargill ran in the 200m dash where she took 19th place with a time of 28.18. Jones took 32nd place with a time of 29.28, while Jacob finished in 38th place with a time of 29.85. Arias took 43rd place with a time of 30.38.
- In the 1500m run, Cruz took 28th place with a time of 6:07.18. Rachel Reagan finished in 32nd place with a time of 6:58.62.
