WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD HAVE THREE TOP SIX FINISHES AT RAMAPO INVITATIONAL

Mahwah, N.J. (3/30/25)  The Dominican University New York women's track and field team competed this past Friday and Saturday at the Ramapo Track and Field Invitational held this past Friday and Saturday on the campus of RCNJ.

Kenyce Scavella had the high finish of fourth place in the discus throw, while Tiara Cargill finished sixth in the 100m dash.

The 4x100m relay team of Jayda Jones, Lynn Jacob, Genesis Jimenez and Cargill took sixth place with a time of 51.34.

SATURDAY'S RESULTS

  • In the discus throw Kenyce Scavella had the high finish of fourth place with a throw of 33.41m (109' 7").  Tori Benson took ninth place with a throw of 29.70m (97' 5").
  • Tiara Cargill took sixth place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.91.  In the prelmins of the event she took seventh place with a time of 12.85, while Jayda Jones finished in 15th place with a time of 13.56.  Lynn Jacob ran a time of 13.57 to take 16th place.  In the unseeded race Genesis Jimenez took fourth place with a time of 13.67.
  • The 4x100m relay team of Jones, Jacob, Jimenez and Cargill took sixth place with a time of 51.34.
  • The team of Anjalice Arias, Anna Murphy, Jones and Sarai Cruz took ninth place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:35.06.
  • Benson competed in the shot put event where she took 11th place with a throw of 9.40m (30' 10.25").  Scavella took 13th place with a throw of 9.30m (30' 6.25").
  • Jimenez finished in 14th place in the long jump with a jump of 4,82m (15' 9.75").  Cargill finished in 15th place with a jump of 4.81m (15' 9.5").
  • Cargill also competed in the 200m dash where she finished in 20th place with a time of 27.97.  Jones took 27th place with a time of 28.70, while Jacob finished in 35th place with a time of 29.34.  Arias took 37th place with a time of 29.48.
  • Cruz took part in the 800m run where she finished in 17th place with a time of 2:45.10.
  • In the 400m dash Murphy took 21st place with a time of 1:06.57.  Arias finished in 25th place with a time of 1:07.20.
  • Cruz also competed in the 5000m run where she took 26th place with a time of 25:10.60. 

FRIDAY'S RESULTS

  • In the shot put event, Benson finished in 11th place with a throw of 9.40m (30-10.25).  Scavella took 13th place with a throw of 9.30 (30-06.25)
  • Rachel Reagan competed in the 5000m run where she took 27th place with a time of 25:10.60.

The Lady Chargers return to action next weekend at the Pratt Invitational.
