DOMINICAN STARTS 2023 CAMPAIGN AT SHARKS INVITATIONAL

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (9/1/23)  The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team started the 2023 season off today at the Sharks Invitational and hosted by Nova Southeastern University.

Match One

Dominican (0-1) began the day with a 3-0 (13-25, 12-25, 15-25) loss to the Bentley University Falcons (1-0) in a match played in the Rick Case Arena. 

Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) led the team with seven kills (.500 attack percentage) in the loss.

Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) added six kills and seven defensive digs, while Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) also added seven digs.

Freshman Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tallied 11 assists.

Match Two

Their second match of the day saw the Chargers suffer a 3-0 (13-25, 8-25, 14-25) loss to Eckerd College. 

Carr just missed a double-double with a season high 10 kills and eight digs.

Setter Sanstead finished with 14 assists, while Ellis recorded four kills and Nicolette Piscopo (Wantagh, N.Y.) contributed five digs.

Dominican continues play at the Sharks Invitational tomorrow when they face Nova Southeastern University and Seton Hill University.
