New Haven, Conn. (9/8/23) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team dropped two non-conference matches to the Owls, 3-0 and to Saint Anselm College, 3-1, in a tri-match at Pelz Gymnasium.
Following the the contests, the Chargers are now 0-6 on the season.
Against SCSU (8-25, 18-25, 20-25), Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) and Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) led the team with five kills a-piece.
Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) added three kills, while Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tallied 12 assists.
Sophomore Perez led the team with eight defensive digs, with Carr, Sanstead and Abigail Thompson (Aledo, Texas) each adding five digs.
In the loss to the Hawks (16-25, 25-21, 9-25, 14-25), Dominican tallied 12 kills and a .250 attack percentage in the second set win.
Carr led the team with seven kills. Junior Andreya Davis (Peekskill, N.Y) recorded six kills and a .286 attack percentage, while Savannah Tody (Minneapolis, Minn.) contributed five kills.
Freshman Delaney Ott (Fairbanks, Alaska) picked up a career high 13 digs with Maura Asadourian (Schertz, Texas) adding six assists and eight digs in the loss. Ellis had two block solos and one block assist.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow morning when they take on Franklin Pierce University in a neutral site match, hosted by Post University as part of the Eagles Invitational Tournament.
