RAVENS UPEND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Waterbury, Conn. (9/9/23) The Dominican University women's volleyball team fell to Franklin Pierce University, 3-1, this afternoon in action played at the Eagles Invitational, hosted by Post University.
Following the match Dominican now stands at 0-7 on the season while, the Ravens improve to 4-1 overall.
The Chargers took the first set by the score of 25-18 for the early 1-0 match lead, FPU rallied with wins in the next three sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-23) for the match victory. In the first set, DUNY had 13 kills and a .250 attack percentage. The final set saw a match high 15 kills for the Chargers.
Junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) had a season high 15 kills and completed the double-double with 10 digs.
Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) also had a double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs, while Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) recorded 10 kills, four block solos and three block assists.
Setter Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) delivered a career high 35 assists and 12 digs with libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) having a team best 18 digs in the loss.
Dominican returns to action on September 13th when they host Caldwell University in their home and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener. Match time is set for 7pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
