
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TURNED AWAY BY RAMS
Philadelphia, Pa. (10/7/23) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell to the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University in CACC action this afternoon.
The Chargers returned to conference play after hosting D'Youville University last night. The Rams defeated the Chargers in a 3-0 sweep to improve to 10-7 overall and 7-0 in the CACC. The Chargers fall to 6-12 overall and 4-2 in the CACC.
The Rams opened the match with a 25-14 victory in the first set. Jefferson stayed hot in the second set by using a 13-0 run and secured a 25-10 win in the second set.
The Chargers led early in the third set but the Rams used a 7-0 run to take the lead and never looked back on their way to a 25-16 win to secure the 3-0 victory.
Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) led the Chargers in kills with eight and points with nine. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recorded a team-high eight digs. Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added a team-high 15 assists.
The Rams were led by Jess Molen who recorded 15 kills and scored 17 points. Morgan Ritchie finished with 11 kills, 11 points, and recorded six digs. Cameron Johnson finished with a team-high 14 digs while Caroline Bond added 33 assists.
The Chargers return to action next Wednesday on the road as they travel to Caldwell University for a CACC north division match up with the Cougars at 6:00 PM.
