
GOLDEN FALCONS EDGE CHARGERS IN FIVE SETS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/25/23) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell to CACC rival Felician University tonight in a north division match up on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
The Golden Falcons outlasted the Chargers in five sets to improve to 10-12 (8-4 CACC). The Chargers fall to 8-16 (6-5 CACC).
The Golden Falcons opened the match with a 25-19 victory after countering a strong start by the Chargers with a 7-0 run to take the lead and a late 6-0 run to regain the lead and stayed in control for the win.
The Chargers answered back with a marathon in the second set winning 31-29 to even the match.
Felician edged the Chargers in the third set 25-23 to take a 2-1 advantage into the fourth set.
In the fourth set, both teams were tied at 17-17 and Dominican secured the set by outscoring Felician 8-4 to force a fifth and final set.
The Chargers trailed the fifth set early but used a 7-2 run to take a 9-7 lead. Dominican extended to a 12-9 lead before Felician used a 6-1 run to complete the victory.
Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) finished with a season high 22 kills and matched her season high in points with 23.5. Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) also recorded a season high in kills with 21 and matched her season high in points with 22.5.
Freshman Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added a career high 52 assists. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recorded a team-high 24 digs. Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) added a team-high six service aces and recorded 11 points.
The Chargers continue their homestand this Saturday when they take on the Wildcats of Wilmington University at 12:00 PM.
