
DOMINICAN CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO GRIFFINS
Philadelphia, Pa. (11/11/23) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Chestnut Hill College, in a match played today in Sorgenti Arena.
The Griffins won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-22. Dominican trailed 20-12 in the first set when Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) served for five consecutive points to cut the lead to 20-18. CHC took advantage of a service error to close out the set win.
In the third set, the score was tied at 22-all when the Griffins recorded three unanswered points for the 25-22 set win and 3-0 match victory.
Junior Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led the team with 14 kills, a .314 attack percentage, three service aces and three block assists.
Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recorded nine digs and two service aces, while Kaeden Sanstead (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tallied 24 assists and five digs.
Sophomore Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) had eight digs with McCutcheon and Savannah Tody (Minneapolis, Minn.) recorded four kills a piece.
Dominican concludes the regular season with an overall record of 10-20 and a CACC record of 8-8.
The Chargers have earned the third seed in the north division in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament and will travel back down to #2S CHC on Tuesday evening in a quarterfinal match up.
