MARAUDERS SWEEP LADY CHARGERS IN NON-CONFERENCE DOUBLE-HEADER

Millersville, Pa. (9/14/24)  The Millersville University women's volleyball team swept the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican University New York this afternoon in a non-conference double-header, 3-0 and 3-1.

The Marauders improve to 6-1 while the Lady Chargers fall to 1-3 on the season.

Match One:  Millersville won the first match in straight sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-16.

Kaitlyn Carr led Dominican with nine kills and seven digs in the match, while Elizabeth Perez added eight kills and eight digs.

Layla Shipley had a team best 20 assists and Abigail Thompson tallied eight digs.

Match Two:  The Marauders took home the win in four sets by scores of 25-18,25-20, 23-25, 25-17.

Down 2-0, the Lady Chargers scored the final three points of the third set for the 25-23 win.  Savannah Tody scored the first and third kill of the run, while Gloria Cranney had the other kill.

MU closed out the match with a 25-17 fourth set win for the 3-1 victory.

Carr finished the match with 10 kills and eight digs.

Senior Nicolette Piscopo had a team high 19 digs in the loss, while Shipley finished with 12 digs.

Cranney tied her career high with nine kills and Mackenzie Chambers added six kills.

Dominican returns to action on Wednesday evening when they host Bloomfield College of Montclair State University in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener scheduled for 7pm on Coach Baxter Court.
