
EAGLES UPEND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/2/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to the visiting Eagles of Post University, 3-1, this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Dominican won the first set 25-23, before falling in the next three 25-18, 25-15 and 25-22.
Following the match, the Lady Chargers now stand at 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.
CACC Player of the Week, Elizabeth Perez, led the team with 14 kills and 10 digs.
Kaitlyn Carr added 10 kills and 13 digs, while CACC Setter of the Week, Kaeden Sanstead recorded 28 assists and 10 digs.
Libero Linda Armao Peng had a season high 30 digs in the loss.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in the opening set, quickly taking a 14-6 lead. The Eagles would later tie the set at 23-all, but a kills from Carr and an Eagle attack error gave DUNY the early 1-0 (25-23) match lead.
Post rallied to win sets two and three and closed out the match with a 25-22 set four victory for the 3-1 win.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday when they travel to CACC foe, Georgian Court University.
