
LADY CHARGERS SWEEP TIGERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/26/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team swept the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win Dominican improves to 8-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers won the sets by the scores of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-20.
Dominican trailed 5-3 in the first set when senior Lindley McCutcheon served for six straight points, including four service aces in a row, to pull ahead 9-5. Later sophomore Kaeden Sanstead would serve the final three points of the set for the 25-21 win.
The second set saw Kaitlyn Carr serve the last seven points where she tallied four aces en route to teh 25-14 win.
DUNY trailed 15-11 in the final set but the Lady Chargers used a 7-0 run to gain an 18-15 advantage and Carr would later close out the match with a kill for the 25-20 set win and 3-0 match victory.
Carr led all attackers with 12 kills, five service aces and added 12 digs.
Libero Linda Armao Peng contributed 14 digs and five assists, while Elizabeth Perez added 10 kills and six digs.
Setter Sanstead finished with 23 assists.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bloomfield College of Montclair State University.
