CHARGERS COMPLETE SEASON SWEEP OVER BEARS
Bloomfield, N.J. (10/30/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team downed CACC north division rival Bloomfield College of MSU in a 3-0 sweep for their second consecutive win.
The Chargers sweep the season series over the Bears and improve to 9-8 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
Dominican opened the match with a 25-17 win in the opening set and then downed the Bears in the second set 25-5 for the 2-0 lead.
Dominican scored six unanswered points to open the third set. The Bears closed the gap but Dominican ended the set outscoring BC 11-6 to complete the sweep.
Elizabeth Perez led the Chargers in kills with nine and points scored with 11.5. Perez also recorded seven digs and two service aces.
Kaitlyn Carr and Aaliyah Ellis each finished with five kills. Carr also added three service aces and eight digs while Ellis picked up a solo block and two block assists.
Linda Armao Peng finished with a team-high in digs with 11 while Kaeden Sanstead picked up 25 assists.
The Chargers will travel to Wilmington University on Saturday afternoon to take on the Wildcats.
