
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TURNED AWAY BY EAGLES
Waterbury, Conn. (11/7/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell in conference action to Post University by a score of 3-0.
DU's winning streak ends at three as the Eagles earn the season sweep over the Chargers.
The Eagles improve to 17-8 overall and 12-1 in conference play while the Chargers fall to 10-9 overall and 7-5 in the CACC.
The Eagles outlasted the Chargers in the opening set 25-23 after a back and forth affair to take a 1-0 match lead. The Eagles followed up the win in the first set with a 25-14 triumph in both the second and third sets to earn the sweep.
Elizabeth Perez led the Chargers in kills with seven and also added eight digs.
Kaitlyn Carr and Aaliyah Ellis each added six kills. Carr also finished with 11 digs and Ellis added one block assist.
Setter Kaeden Sanstead picked up a team-high 20 assists and also shared a team-high 15 digs. Linda Armao Peng also recorded 15 digs while Lindley McCutcheon added five kills.
The Eagles were led by Kristina Peric who recorded 14 kills and three block assists for 15.5 points. Maria Branco had a match high 22 assists while Alyssa Groves recorded a team-high 25 digs.
The Chargers return home this Saturday to host the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College at 12:00 PM in the Hennessy Center.
