
ELLIS AND CARR COMBINE FOR 23 KILLS IN LOSS TO RAMS
Philadelphia, Pa. (11/14/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Thomas Jefferson University Rams in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played in the Gallagher Athletic Center.
Following the match, the Lady Chargers are now 10-12 overall and 7-8 in conference play.
TJU won the first set by the score 25-18, while the Lady Chargers turned the tables and took the second set, 25-18. The Rams secured wins in the third and fourth sets, 25-22 and 25-17 for the 3-1 victory.
In the set that the Lady Chargers won, the team tallied 16 kills and sported a .325 attack percentage.
Senior Aaliyah Ellis led the team with 12 kills, a .647 attack percentage, three block solos and three block assists.
Outside hitter Kaitlyn Carr recorded 11 kills, 12 digs and two block assists, while Savannah Tody added nine kills and five block assists.
Elizabeth Perez also tallied nine kills, two service aces and seven digs.
Setter Layla Shipley had a match leading 42 assists and Kylie Flynn had a team leading 13 digs in the loss.
Dominican closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon when they host Caldwell University in the Hennessy Center at 12pm.
