
ZIZI NAMED CACC CO-ROOKIE OF THE YEAR; TEAM WINS CACC SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
New Haven, Conn. (4/26/24) Thomas Jefferson University standout Hannibal Borg on Friday was named the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Player of the Year as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Borg, who was also placed on the All-CACC First Team, earned the major honors in a vote conducted by the league's four head coaches in the CACC division.
Joining Borg as major award winners was teammate Johary Rabetrano and Dominican University New York's Ali Zizi has both were named CACC Rookie of the Year, and Jefferson's Fred Perrin who was named CACC Coach of the Year. Dominican earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.
Borg has gone 14-4 in singles' action this season including a 13-4 mark at the No. 1 spot in Jefferson's lineup. Borg is 8-1 in his last nine matches.
Rabetrano is 11-4 overall this season in his first campaign as a collegiate competitor. Zizi has competed in several spots in the Dominican lineup this spring including picking up wins at both the No. 1 singles' and doubles' spots throughout the way.
Perrin helped guide Jefferson to a perfect 9-0 record in conference play during the regular season to capture the CACC regular season crown. The Rams are also ranked first in the latest NCAA Division II East Region rankings.
