
BAHADURALI LADHANI AND BRUNO NAMED TO CACC MTEN ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (5/23/24) Sixteen (16) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All four CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
CACC Division finalist Chestnut Hill College led the way with seven honorees on the squad.
Dominican University New York had two players named to the team as Qalib Bahadurali Ladhani (Guelph, Ontario) was named to the team for the third time and John Bruno (Middleburgh, N.Y.) made his first appearance on the team.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ CHC's Joao Sousa was the lone student-athlete on the team to post a GPA of 3.90 or higher as he had a mark of 3.94.
♦ Sousa was joined by Dominican University's Qalib Bahadurali Ladhani, Thomas Jefferson University's Hannibal Borg and Post University's Jose Nunez as student-athletes to make the team for a third time in their respective careers.
♦ CHC's Noah Cutting, Jefferson's Enrique Soto Ballester and Post's Daniel Cristobal Cervantes were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The three teams to qualify for the CACC divisional post-season tournament combined to have 14 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).
