Lincoln University, Pa. (10/5//24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team downed the Lions of Lincoln University this afternoon in CACC action.
Five different Lady Chargers found the back of the net on their way to a 6-1 victory. DU improves to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the CACC while the Lions fall to 3-5 and 0-4.
Nelly Arvidsson got the start and the win in net for the Lady Chargers. Ariel Reyes started in goal for the Lions and suffered the loss.
Three first half unanswered goals gave the Lady Chargers a 3-0 lead. Isabella Wysocki scored back to back goals to put the Lady Chargers on top 2-0 which included a PK goal in the third minute and then scored off of a free kick in the 32nd minute.
Logan Valdes extended the DU lead to 3-0 off of a free kick in the 35th minute. The Lions cut the deficit to 3-1 after Justyce King scored to put LU on the board.
Second half goals by Sabine Sorensen and Jessie Maraia 38 seconds apart extended the Lady Charger lead to 5-1. Sorensen's goal was the second PK goal of the game for the Lady Chargers. Later Kaitlyn Zeeb scored the 6th and final goal of the game to extend the lead to 6-1. Alissa Madura picked up an assist on each of the final two goals.
The Lady Chargers fired nine shots with Sorensen finishing with a team-high four while Wysocki took a total of two shots.
The Lady Chargers return home on Wednesday afternoon when they host the Cougars of Caldwell University for a CACC contest at 3:30 PM on O'Brien Field.
