After the win, the Chargers improve to 6-3 overall on the season and the Dolphins fall to 1-6.
As a team, the Chargers recorded 18 hits. Tyler Patterson (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) each went 2 for 3 in the game and each recorded four RBI's. Colon added a triple.
Ryan Ruziecki (Lincroft, N.J.) added two hits including three RBI's. Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) added two hits and two RBI's while Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) drove in two RBI's and scored three runs.
Christopher Palmieri (Warwick Valley, N.Y.) added two hits and one RBI. Stefano Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) and William Desapio (Pearl River, N.Y.) each added one RBI.
Carmine Giordano (New Rochelle, N.Y.) scored three runs and added one stolen base. Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) and Arthur Quinones (Miami, Fla.) also added one stolen base.
The Chargers got the scoring started in the second inning when they scored five runs for an early 5-0 lead. The Dolphins got on the board with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
The Chargers extended their lead in the fourth inning with two runs. DC then scored six runs in the fifth inning and five runs in the sixth inning for the 18-1 lead.
The Dolphins added a run in the sixth inning, three runs in the seventh inning, and two in the ninth inning. DC added two in the seventh inning and one run in the ninth inning and secured the win.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, April 10th when they travel to Thomas Jefferson University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM and game two will follow at 4:30 PM.
