WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS SEASON OPENER TO GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY

For DC, the match was the 2021 season opener and the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match of the season. The Lions improve to 1-2 (1-0 CACC) after the win.
The Lions completed the three-set sweep over DC for their first win of the season. GCU took set one by a score of 25-14. GCU took a 2-0 match lead with a 25-16 win in the second set. The Lions completed the sweep with a 25-11 win in set three.
For the Lions, Aubrey Binkley led the way with 10.5 points, seven kills, and also added eight digs. Kayla Wilson added 8.5 points, eight kills, two digs, and two assists. Nylene Mateo scored seven points and recorded six digs and seven kills.
Kinsy Haschke also scored seven points and added five digs and six kills.
For Dominican, Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) led the team in points with 13. LaPier also finished the match with 13 kills and 10 digs. Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 12 assists. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) added 14 digs.
DC will look to bounce back on Wednesday, February 24th when they travel to Nyack College for a conference match against the Warriors. The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 P.M.
