WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS CONFERENCE MATCH TO NYACK COLLEGE

Jersey City, N.J. (2/24/21) The Dominican College Women's Volleyball team fell to the Warriors of Nyack College three sets to one. The Lady Chargers fall to 0-2 (0-2 CACC) and the Warriors improve to 1-0 (1-0 CACC).
Nyack struck first with a 25-22 win in the opening set. DC bounced back in the second set and used a 13-5 run to cap a 25-15 win to even the match a 1-1.
Nyack came back from behind in the third set to take a 2-1 match lead. Nyack won the next set 25-14 to secure the win.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) led the way for DC with 27 points, 26 kills, and 19 digs. Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.) contributed 12.5 points, eight kills, and two digs.
Alexis Boettcher (Paramus, N.J.) added eight points, five digs, and four kills. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) finished with a team-high 33 digs. Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) added a team-high 39 assists.
For Nyack, British Dawson scored 15 points and added 20 digs and 11 kills. Jada Hamilton scored 11.5 points, 19 digs, and 11 kills.
Kirby Cuellar added nine points, 12 digs, and seven kills. Rachel Medin recorded a team-high 30 assists and added 14 digs.
DC will be back in action on Friday, February 26th when they return home to host Concordia College. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 P.M.
