Rutherford, N.J. (9/15/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season opener, 3-1, this evening to host Felician University in a match played in Job Gymnasium.
Rutherford, N.J. (9/15/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season opener, 3-1, this evening to host Felician University in a match played in Job Gymnasium.
Dominican (2-6, 0-1 CACC) won the opening set, 25-22, but Felician (3-6, 1-0) went on to win the next three; 27-25, 27-25 and 25-20 to take home the 3-1 win.
Outside hitter Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) recorded a season high 22 kills (.246 attack percentage) and 19 digs. In the first set with the score tied at 22-all, LaPier recorded three straight kills to lift the Chargers to the 25-22 set win.
Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) posted career highs of 59 assists and 17 digs.
Freshman Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) also recorded new career highs in the match as she had 19 kills and 18 digs, while Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) had a career high 10 kills.
Libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had 28 defensive digs.
DC will travel to non-conference opponent, Mercy College, next Tuesday evening.
