Jersey City, N.J. (11/4/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team bested host, Nyack College, 3-1 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match.
With the win Dominican improves to 7-16 overall and 5-9 in CACC play, while the Warriors fall to 2-19 overall and 2-13 in conference play.
Dominican edge Nyack 25-22 in the first set but the Warriors evend the match as they took the second set 26-24. The Chargers took the final two sets 25-15 and 25-22 to take the match.
Freshman outside hitter, Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led all attackers with 13 kills and added 11 digs.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with 11 kills and nine digs, while libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recorded a team best 15 digs in the victory.
Setter Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) contributed 36 assists and 10 digs.
The Chargers host Chestnut Hill College this coming Saturday in the Hennessy Center in CACC action.
