After falling, 4-1 to #1 Wilmington University earlier in the day, the Chargers end their season with an overall record of 20-25.
Game One: The Wilmington pitching staff limited the Charger offense to just two hits in the 4-1 victory.
The Cats scored a run in the bottom of the second and added three more runs in the fifth on a single and two-run home run to left field to gain a 4-0 advantage.
The lone Charger run came in the sixth stanza as All-CACC Second Team selection, Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) blasted a solo home run over the left field fence to make the score the eventual 4-1 final.
Gray also had the other DC hit as he singled to left field with two outs in the third.
Senior Peter Martinez (White Plains, N.Y.) took the complete game loss (5-3), allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and six strikeouts.
Game Two: The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when the Chargers put two runs on the scoreboard as senior shortstop and All-CACC Second Team pick, Robert Alonso (Hurley, N.Y.) delivered a two out RBI single to center field to bring home Rafael Balado (San Juan, Puerto Rico) who had pinch ran for designated hitter Carlos Cabrera (Bronx, N.Y.) after leading off the inning with a walk. Two batters later Alonso came home on the run-scoring single to left center field off the bat of junior William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) for the 2-0 DC advantage.
Leading 2-1 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, junior first basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) blasted a 1-2 pitch over the center field fence to plate two runs, the other runner being Alonso who had earlier got a two out single right center, to increase the Charger lead to 4-1.
In the bottom of the ninth, Post scored three runs on two hits to cut the deficit to 4-3. With a runner on second and two outs, the batter hit a single to right center and a Charger fielding error on the throw in to the infield allowed the game-winning run to score and lift Post to the win.
