COUGARS BEAT LADY CHARGERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/27/15) The visiting Cougars of Caldwell University defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-20) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-22 overall and 4-10 in conference play.
Trailing 11-6 in the opening set, the Lady Chargers used six service points from senior Ashley Joyner (Edgewood, Md.) to take a 12-11 lead. The Cougars countered with five straight points to regain the lead and went on to the 25-19 win.
DC trailed 19-16 in the second set when the Lady Charger, Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.), recorded a kill and later followed with a service ace to complete a 3-0 spurt and tie the score at 19-all. Caldwell closed out the set with a 6-1 run to win 25-20 and take a 2-0 match lead.
The Cougars never trailed in the final set as they began with the first six points en route to the 25-20 win and 3-0 victory.
Joyner led Dominican with 10 kills, while libero Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had a team best 16 defensive digs.
Freshman Kelly Murphy (Evergreen, Colo.) narrowly missed a double-double with eight kills and 10 digs and Dexter also tallied eight kills and added 14 digs.
Setter Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) completed a double-double with a match best 26 assists and 11 digs.
Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) recorded 11 digs in the loss.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Philadelphia University.
