LADY CHARGERS DEFEATED BY PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY
The Dominican College Women’s Volleyball team was defeated by the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University in three sets in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center this afternoon.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/31/15) The Dominican College Women's Volleyball team was defeated by the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University in three sets in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center this afternoon. With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 4-11 in conference action.
Throughout the first set, Philadelphia University was the dominant team in the set after starting out to an early lead. The Rams would maintain the lead after gaining a 1-0 advantage over Dominican after the first set.
During the second set the Lady Chargers would obtain an early 5-2 lead over Philadelphia University. The Rams would then make a run and take a 9 to 8 advantage. The Rams would hold on to win the set 25-15, and take a 2- 0 lead over the Lady Chargers in the match.
The third set would once again see the Lady Chargers start out strong and gain a 9-5 lead over the Rams. Philadelphia University countered to tie the set at 10 and would move on to a 25-15 win in the third set, to secure a 3-0 victory.
Junior Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) was tied for a team-high four kills and added nine digs.
Senior captain Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) led the team with 10 assists and 10 digs in the match.
The Lady Chargers next match is on Wednesday at 7 PM in a CACC matchup at divisional opponent Felician College.
