Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/30/16) The Nyack College Warriors swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Dominican College, 7-5 and 4-1, today in games played at Veteran's Memorial Park.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/30/16) The Nyack College Warriors swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Dominican College, 7-5 and 4-1, today in games played at Veteran's Memorial Park.
Following the losses, the Chargers are now 7-14 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Game One: NC opened the game with a run in the top of the first, but the Chargers quickly tied the game in the bottom stanza on the RBI ground out off the bat of Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.). The Warriors would regain the lead in the fifth inning as they scored five runs to pull ahead, 6-1.
DC got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth on a run-scoring single from left fielder Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and a sacrifice fly ball from right fielder Jordan Berancet (Schenectady, N.Y.) to cut the deficit to 6-3. Nyack added a run in the seventh and Dominican brought home two runs in the ninth on doubles from Brandon Simone (Bayside, N.Y.) and Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) for the final 7-5 score.
Third basemen Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) had three hits in the loss.
Gray, Soto and Jordan Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) all had two hits.
Starter Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) suffered the loss (2-2) in 4 2/3 innings of work, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits.
Game Two: The Chargers struck first in the night cap with a run in the bottom of the first inning on the RBI single from Lopez for the 1-0 advantage.
Nyack would rally with three runs in the sixth and tacked on a run in the seventh for the evenutal 4-1 win.
Decker finished with two hits in the loss.
Anthony Hunter (Palm City, Fla.) took the loss in six innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits and five strikeouts.
Dominican is set to be in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to non-conference opponent, Adelphi University.
