Pomona, N.Y. (4/19/16) The Dominican College baseball team charged past the visiting Lions of Molloy College, 9-3, this evening in a non-conference game played at Provident Bank Park.

Molloy to a 2-0 advantage in the top of the second inning on a one out two-ru double down the right field line.
DC rallied with four runs on three hits and three errors in the fourth to jump ahead, 4-2. Left fielder Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) started off the scoring with an infield single and Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) followed with a run-scoring triple to right center field. First basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) recorded the third straight hit for Dominican with a single to center to score Soto. Lopez would later score on Lion fielding error.
Dominican added three runs in the bottom of the fifth as right fielder William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) delivered an RBI single through the left side and catcher Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) followed with a two-run double to right field to make the score 7-2.
The Chargers made the score 8-2 in the sixth on the RBI single to to right center field off the bat of Lopez.
Molloy scored a run in the seventh on a single through the left side.
Starter Nick Bird (Rotterdam, N.Y.) went seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two strikeouts.
Sophomore Thomas Saffiotti (Bergenfield, N.J.) came in for the final two innings, striking out three and allowing two hits.
Lopez went 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Seymour and Soto collected two hits each.
With the win, Dominican improves to 13-22 on the season.
