BASEBALL DROPS TWO GAMES TO UNIVERSITY OF BRIDGEPORT
Bridgeport, Conn. (4/27/16) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference double-header to host, University of Bridgeport, in games played tonight at Harbor Yard. The Purple Knights won the first game, 10-2 and took game two, 4-3.

Bridgeport, Conn. (4/27/16) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference double-header to host, University of Bridgeport, in games played tonight at Harbor Yard. The Purple Knights won the first game, 10-2 and took game two, 4-3.
Game One: The Purple Knights offense exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the first inning to pull away, 9-0. Dominican got on the scoreboard in the third stanza as second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) advanced home on a fielder's choice.
UB added a run in their half of the fifth inning, while DC brought home a run in the sixth as Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) scored on a wild pitch for the final 10-2 score.
Lopez and Decker each had two hits in the loss.
Starter Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) suffered the loss (5-3) in one inning of work.
Game Two: Bridgeport scored two runs in the first for the early lead, but the Chargers countered with two runs in the fourth on the RBI ground out by Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) and Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) came home on a wild pitch to tie the score at 2-all.
UB used a two out rally in the seventh to bring home the game-winning run on a single to center field for the 4-3 win.
Reliever Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) took the loss (1-3) in 2/3 innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits.
With the losses, Dominican falls to 15-26 on the season.
